Dangerous fraud schemes, including the sale of bank cards and clicking on suspicious links, can lead to serious consequences.
A group of well-known Kyrgyz artists and bloggers has made an urgent appeal to the public to be vigilant and not fall for the tricks of cyber fraudsters.
According to them, dozens of people in Bishkek become victims of internet fraud every day, resulting in financial losses and negative consequences for families and the future, including the future of children.
The celebrities highlighted key reasons for the increase in the number of victims: the sale of bank cards and SIM cards, clicking on suspicious links, as well as the hope for quick wealth through unreliable financial projects.
Handing over one's bank cards to third parties can lead to serious consequences, including criminal liability, as it makes a person an accomplice to a crime. Additionally, illegal loans can be taken out using such cards.
The artists are also concerned about one of the most common schemes: fraudsters call, posing as employees of government agencies or law enforcement institutions, intimidate people, and demand money transfers "for verification" or "for reliability." Real employees never ask for money transfers over the phone or internet. In such cases, it is recommended to immediately terminate the call and contact the police at number 102.
