The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan has announced that the first day of the month of Ramadan (Orozo ayi) in 2026 will be celebrated on February 19.
This decision was made by the fatwa council during a meeting of the muftiyats of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States, which took place in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).
According to the information from the Spiritual Administration, on the evening of February 18, the first tarawih prayer will be held in all mosques across the country, which traditionally precedes the start of the holy month.
The muftiyat urges all believers to prepare in advance for fasting and to follow the established religious prescriptions.
