
Recently, a meeting took place between the Mufti of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan Abdulaziz Kary Zakirov and the Mufti of the Altai Republic Janbolat Azhy Okhtaubaev, as reported by the press service of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.
During the discussion, representatives from both sides noted the growing interest in Islam in Altai. Janbolat Azhy Okhtaubaev expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the importance of experience exchange and joint educational projects.
Particular attention was given by the meeting participants to the upcoming month of Ramadan (Orozo ayi). The Altai side requested to send three Qur'an reciters (karies) from Kyrgyzstan to conduct hatm during the taraweeh prayers and to provide support in educating young Muslims of Altai in religious educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan.
For his part, the Mufti of Kyrgyzstan noted the positive changes in the religious life of the Altai region, confirming readiness to expand cooperation and work together in the fields of education, training, and knowledge exchange.
