Abdulaziz Qari Zakirov, the Mufti of Kyrgyzstan, addressed the public with criticism towards speculators and the unjustified rise in prices of essential goods, stating that such actions contradict the norms of Sharia.

In his address, made on the eve of Friday and the holy months of Rajab, Shaaban, and Ramadan, he emphasized that some traders, taking advantage of economic difficulties, unjustifiably inflate prices, profiting from people's needs.

The head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan noted: “Excessive greed for profit, sharp price hikes, and market monopoly are actions that provoke dissatisfaction from the Almighty,” referring to the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad that condemn speculation and monopoly.

According to Abdulaziz Qari Zakirov, Islam permits trade and profit-making, but only within the framework of honesty, fairness, and social responsibility. He also added that if the rise in prices is not due to objective factors but rather the greed of sellers, then the state has not only the right but also the duty to intervene and regulate the market.

The Mufti also highlighted the social consequences of sharp price increases, such as increased inequality and worsening living conditions for the poor, which can lead to public discontent. He reminded that speculation and artificial price inflation are sinful acts, especially concerning food products.

In conclusion of his address, Abdulaziz Qari Zakirov urged traders to fear Allah and show moderation in profit, and citizens to be economical, avoid wastefulness, and maintain balance in spending, especially in the context of rising prices.
