In his address, he emphasized the need to preserve mountain ecosystems and promote sustainable development in the regions.
Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, noted in his congratulations that mountains are crucial for Kyrgyzstan, but they face serious threats due to climate change. He highlighted that issues such as glacier melting, reduction of snow cover, an increase in landslides and floods, as well as the deterioration of forests and loss of biodiversity require immediate action from the government and society.
At the initiative of President Sadyr Japarov and in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly, from 2023 to 2027, the world is observing the International Decade for Action on Mountain Development, during which Kyrgyzstan actively supports the "mountain agenda" and strengthens international cooperation.
At the national level, steps are already being taken to improve the quality of life in mountain areas: roads are being modernized, infrastructure and digitalization of public services are being developed, and sectors such as agriculture, tourism, green economy, and energy are being supported, along with the expansion of the network of social institutions.
Kasymaliev called on citizens and international partners to actively participate in the sustainable development of mountain territories: to protect nature, develop ecological culture, use natural resources wisely, and strengthen cooperation at the international level.
“Let the mountains continue to inspire us, giving us strength of spirit and confidence in the future. May they become a symbol of peace, harmony, and sustainable development for all peoples,” he emphasized in his congratulations.
