Adylbek Kasymaliev congratulated the citizens of Kyrgyzstan on Science Day

Recently, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev congratulated his compatriots on Science Day, as reported by the government press service.

In his address, he noted:

“Dear colleagues, esteemed scientists, graduate students, students, and all those who contribute to the development of science!

On behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and personally, I sincerely congratulate you on this significant holiday!”

Kasymaliev emphasized that the scientific potential of Kyrgyzstan today is impressive and includes 82 scientific and scientific-technical organizations, where more than 6,500 scientists work, including both doctors and candidates of sciences.

Our researchers have achieved significant success since the establishment of scientific institutions and universities; their work has enriched our cultural and spiritual world, exploring both our heritage and modern achievements. We are proud that the medical practices of Kyrgyz specialists meet international standards, as well as the fact that Kyrgyz scientists have contributed to space research by developing unique technologies for drilling the lunar surface.

Despite the challenging times when scientific research took a back seat, in recent years the country's economy has undergone significant changes: budget revenues are increasing, new enterprises and social facilities are being built, and conditions are being created for salary increases in the budgetary sphere.

With the improvement of the economic situation, science is receiving the necessary support: salaries for employees of scientific institutions are increasing, and the material and technical base is improving.

Scientific research covers many relevant areas, including energy development until 2035, issues of the state language, sustainable development of mountainous regions, processing of medicinal plants, restoration of forest areas, and adaptation to climate change.

State orders are being carried out for research on seismic zoning, studying archaeological monuments, genetics of agricultural animals, processing waste from the mining industry, restoring fish populations in Lake Issyk-Kul, and optimizing the resource potential of farms.

The scientific priorities of the country today are the history of Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz language, agriculture, biological safety, green economy, healthcare, climate change, energy, post-industrial development, and digitalization.

Previously, we were an industrial-agrarian country, but we went through difficult times, and now there is a process of industrial revival. Digitalization is advancing rapidly, and Kyrgyzstan is becoming an example for its neighbors. I am confident that you, esteemed scientists, will play an important role in these changes.

Kasymaliev also highlighted the importance of economic research aimed at import substitution, stimulating exports, and organizing economic intelligence.

With the increase in the number of startups in applied science, a constructive dialogue between science and business is expected, which will lead to successful and profitable activities.

I wish everyone health, prosperity, and inspiration for new achievements for the benefit of our Kyrgyzstan!

May the scientific heritage of the Kyrgyz people become the foundation for future generations!”
