From December 2 to 5, the VII International Forum of Women Directors titled "Mountains. Ecology, Women in Cinema – A Perspective That Changes the Future" is taking place in Osh. This event features the special representative of the president for the implementation of the Decade of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions, Dinara Kemelova.

The forum is organized as part of the Decade of Action, timed to coincide with the International Mountain Day, and opens a series of events that highlight the importance of ecological and educational themes. According to the president's press service, the film forum highlights the connection between climate, youth, and mountain regions.

Dinara Kemelova expressed gratitude to the organizers, including the founder of the forum, Asel Juraeva, noting that this international forum emphasizes the need for shared responsibility for preserving mountain ecosystems, which are sources of life, water, energy, and inspiration.

She also added that mountains and women directors symbolize resilience, inner strength, and beauty. The film forum creates a space where the female voice in art resonates with confidence and sincerity, uniting art, culture, and ecological issues.

During the panel session, Kemelova presented the participants with the Decade of Action program initiated by President Sadyr Japarov.

This year, the forum includes two key categories: "Women's Lens" and "Environmental and Social Activism," featuring 25 films created by women directors from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

For the first time, a separate environmental block is presented within the forum, reflecting the growing attention to sustainable development in mountain regions, climate challenges, and the role of women in environmental protection. The films showcased address important social issues such as the status of women and children, challenges faced by children with disabilities, as well as questions of humanitarianism and nature conservation.
