The analytical company International Wine and Spirits Research (IWSR) has revised its forecasts for alcohol consumption in 2025. The corresponding report indicates an upcoming decline in overall consumption volume.

According to new data, global alcohol consumption is expected to decrease by 0.4% in 2025 compared to the previous year.

In particular, a reduction in beer consumption by 0.2%, spirits by 1.3%, and wine by 2.4% is forecasted. At the same time, the volume of ready-to-drink beverages is expected to grow by 1.3%.

According to Marten Lodewijks, managing director of IWSR, the main reasons for the decline in beer consumption are economic and political circumstances in the USA and China.

Founded in 1971, IWSR has established itself as one of the leading analytical centers in the alcoholic beverage industry.
