Analysts assessed the prospects of global oil demand

According to the forecast by the International Energy Agency (IEA), published in Reuters, global demand for oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) is expected to show steady growth in the coming decades until the middle of the 21st century.

IEA analysts predict that under the current policy level, oil consumption could reach 113 million barrels per day by 2050, which is 13% higher than expected in 2024.

By 2035, total demand for energy resources will increase by 90 exajoules, corresponding to a 15% growth compared to current figures.

As for the LNG market, forecasts indicate its growth from 560 billion cubic meters in 2024 to 880 billion cubic meters by 2035, and by 2050 this figure will rise to 1,020 billion cubic meters. The main factors driving this increase will be the development of artificial intelligence and data centers, leading to higher consumption in the energy sector.
