One day, while browsing social media, Mendaiym Suyunbai kyzy, an 18-year-old IT student from Osh, came across an advertisement for a training session for aspiring entrepreneurs. This decision became a turning point in her life.
“I gained many new skills and knowledge,” she shares. “I learned how to promote products, set their prices, and confidently speak in front of an audience. I met many ambitious people, which gave me a powerful boost.”
The Beginning of Change
The training was part of the "Araketchil" project, which supports youth in developing entrepreneurial skills and provides opportunities to receive grants to start their own businesses.
From Idea to Business
With new knowledge and self-confidence, Mendaiym decided to implement her idea. After receiving a grant of $3,000, she established a production of cookies, tea, and cosmetics based on rice grown by her parents. Thus, a small enterprise called "Rice Cookies" was born.
“Now I not only run my own business but also provide jobs for two people – my mom and sister. This is my greatest achievement,” Mendaiym proudly says.

Using her IT skills, she began promoting her products through social media. Today, her goods are known not only in Kyrgyzstan but also receive orders from Holland. The main markets are in Bishkek and Osh, where interest in organic products is growing.
“An ordinary girl from a village can achieve a lot and live independently despite difficulties. The main thing is to believe in yourself,” she emphasizes.
Family Support
Mendaiym's parents played a significant role in her success.
“When my daughter told me about her idea, I immediately agreed to help her with the production of gluten-free cookies,” laughs her mother, Rakhат. “I didn’t even know what gluten was!”
Her father adds, “Mendaiym has always been active, and we are confident that she will become a successful entrepreneur.”
A Broad Perspective
Mendaiym's story serves as a reminder that big changes can start with a small step — sometimes even with a simple click on social media.
