Currently, she lives in Alanya (Turkey) and is married to a Turk.
ErkeAym was born on June 24, 2000, in Tash-Kumyr, located in the Jalal-Abad region. She grew up in the village of Ak-Suu, where she attended secondary school No. 12 named after Kadyrkula Sherkulov. After successfully completing her studies with honors, she enrolled in the Osh State Pedagogical University in 2018, majoring in history.
The Path to Turkey
In 2023, ErkeAym began her working life in Turkey, aiming to help her parents. Without any friends or relatives there, she faced a number of difficulties but did not plan to return to Kyrgyzstan to avoid accusations from relatives about where her earned money had gone.
Instead, she decided to invest her income in useful courses on social media, resin work, and massage. She initially worked as a masseuse in a hotel and later became a receptionist.
Meeting Her Husband
Her husband, Farukh, entered her life on June 22 of this year, and their wedding took place on September 26, 2025. As a "kalyn" (bride price), he paid 57,000 US dollars (about 5 million soms).
Their acquaintance happened during her vacation in Alanya. In the five days she spent there, she could not have imagined that it would change her life. Initially, ErkeAym faced high hotel prices and decided she would leave. But Farukh offered her to stay at his home since his sister had a free room. This marked the beginning of their acquaintance, and soon he introduced her to his family, who welcomed her warmly.
Life in Turkey and Relations with Her Husband's Family
ErkeAym feels happy in her new life. She is the only daughter-in-law in her husband's large family, who is the only grandson on both sides. Her mother-in-law treats her like her own daughter and even cooks for her. Her husband always supports her, and her sister-in-law teaches her everything new. If ErkeAym faces difficulties in the presence of relatives, her mother-in-law always says, "My daughter-in-law is from another country; she may not know something—do it yourself."
Although she came for just a few days, her husband's family grew fond of her and even jokingly asked, "Don't you want to be our daughter-in-law?" ErkeAym laughed in response, as she had just met their son. Her husband was 35 years old and had never brought girls home before. At that time, her mother-in-law decided that this girl would be her daughter-in-law.
ErkeAym's Family Reaction to Her Choice
Her father's family did not accept her decision. She does not communicate with her father's relatives, who did not come to the wedding. Only her mother and her relatives attended the ceremony. Her mother always said, "If a man makes you happy, it doesn't matter where he lives."
Difficulties of Life Abroad
Life abroad turned out to be challenging. In 2020, ErkeAym underwent several liver surgeries and faced health issues. But she believes that every trial brings something good. After a car accident, when she ended up in the hospital, she cried, feeling that life was testing her. Later, she realized that illnesses and difficulties are part of life.
Despite the differences in traditions and cuisine, she managed to adapt, as her husband's family never imposed their habits on her. Farukh, his mother, and sister always support her and do not try to control her life.
A Funny Incident in Turkey
ErkeAym encountered a comical situation when she did not know that some swear words in Turkish sound like Kyrgyz names. Once, during a large meeting at the hotel, one of the managers asked her to call the girls standing aside. She called one of them using that swear word and found herself in an awkward situation in front of 500 people. She was almost fired and received a fine of 500 lira, realizing that it was not a name but a profanity.
Real Life and Future Plans
Currently, ErkeAym's husband works as a guide, while she does online work from home. They do not have specific plans for the future yet, but ErkeAym dreams of opening her own small business.
