Spouses Jamalidin Omorov and Seyilbubu Alybaeva from the Kyzyl-Oktabrsky ayil district of the Kemin region in Chui province are celebrating over half a century of life together.

Seyilbubu Alybaeva, born in March 1952 in the village of Kyzyl-Diykan in the Jayil district, shared with a Turmush correspondent that her husband was born in October 1948 in the village of Zhany-Alysh, also in the Kemin district, into a family of a collective farm worker.

In 1974, Seyilbubu graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Kyrgyz National University. Her husband completed his studies at the same faculty, obtaining a degree in material and technical supply in 1979.

After finishing her studies, Seyilbubu began her career at the "Kemin Electrotechnical Plant," then worked as an economist at a collective farm and later became the chief economist. After the dissolution of the state farms, she continued her work as an accountant in a cooperative.

Jamalidin Omorov, for his part, held various positions, including accountant, foreman, garage manager, and deputy director at the collective farm.

Now both spouses are retired and actively participate in the work of the village health committee and are members of the Council of Elders.

According to Alybaeva, her acquaintance with her future husband happened through a mutual friend. "We were introduced by Zholdosh, who studied with my husband. In November 1973, we got married, but we only received the official marriage certificate in March 1974 due to the difficulties with studies and household chores. In our village, we celebrated this event with a small holiday called 'Kelin aldik.' Weddings back then were not as lavish as they are now. We raised five children — three sons and two daughters, and now we have 12 grandchildren. I remember how back then there was a scheduled bus to the village, and if you were late, you were left without transportation," she recounted.

Seyilbubu recalls how she tried not to be late for the bus, as there was no other public transport in her village, which was located closer to the mountains. If she was late, she had to stay with acquaintances in the district center, but her husband always came to meet her, surprising her with his persistence. Later she learned that Zhany-Alysh is located along the Frunze (now Bishkek) – Torugart road, which made it easier for him to reach her by hitchhiking.

Addressing the youth, Seyilbubu emphasized that life is getting better now, and it is important to support each other in difficult times. "Respect and patience for each other are the foundation of a strong family. If you respect your partner, you will also be respected. It is important to remain active and not be lazy, regardless of the circumstances. I have always dreamed of seeing my grandchildren grow and rejoicing in their achievements. In my free time, I helped my mother-in-law with felt products and engaged in sewing. Together with my husband, we grow vegetables in our garden and enjoy life surrounded by our children and grandchildren," she concluded.
