On November 1, the Kyrgyz police will celebrate its 101st birthday.

In connection with this date, Turmush continues to publish materials about the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Police Major, juvenile affairs inspector of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jayil District in the city of Kara-Balta, Bakhtiyar Bokushev has dedicated over 15 years of his life to serving the cause.

He was born in 1985 in the village of Chaldovar in the Panfilov District. Since childhood, he dreamed of becoming an officer, inspired by his uncle who worked in law enforcement.

“There was always a respectful attitude towards my uncle. My parents were proud of his achievements and awards. That’s when I realized that I wanted to be like him — to serve people and protect them,” Bokushev shared.

After finishing his studies in 2009, he began his career in the patrol service (PPS) of the Chui region. In the first months of work, he had to confront a serious criminal.

“In the Issyk-Ata District, my partner and I received an alert about a suspect in a murder. Soon we noticed a man with his hands tied, trying to stop a car. We quickly realized it was him. There was no time to wait for backup, and we decided to deceive him by saying that the victim was alive and ready to testify. This confused him, and he allowed us to put handcuffs on him,” Bakhtiyar recounted.

In 2010, he transferred to the operational service of the police, where he worked for five years and investigated numerous crimes, often facing unexpected situations.

“Once, after detaining a person for petty hooliganism, he told us about the theft of a sheep. We went to the address given, and in the apartment, we found meat and traces of blood. It turned out that the suspects were butchering the sheep right in the apartment building. This is something you remember for a lifetime,” Bokushev noted.

Currently, Major Bokushev works in the juvenile affairs inspection.

He emphasizes that working with children requires special responsibility.

“Working with teenagers is much more difficult than with adults. Teenagers often do not understand the consequences of their actions and have a low sense of responsibility. The main task of the inspector is not only to hold them accountable but also to help them realize their mistakes so that they do not repeat them in the future,” the police officer added.

“I came to the police consciously and sincerely love my profession. We are responsible for order, discipline, and the tranquility of citizens,” he concluded.
