The events were described by local resident Alexandra Parakhina.
“This summer, we decided to visit friends in Russia and spent a few days at the Black Sea in Gelendzhik. We set up our tent on the shore. One evening, while we were preparing dinner, we noticed glowing green eyes in the dark. It was a raccoon that approached our tent,” she said.
At first, only one raccoon came to them, seemingly acting as a scout, but soon a whole group of its relatives emerged from the shadows. They began to insistently ask for food. Apparently, it was a female with grown-up young. We decided to feed these unexpected guests, but soon regretted it.
On the following evening, when we were not in the tent, the raccoons managed to get inside, scattered the grains, and stole our stash of sausages. This forced us to take precautions and hide our food,” Alexandra added.
