In October 2019, a GAZ-69 car, previously owned by the well-known statesman Turdakun Usubaliev, was handed over to Bakai Ömüraliev, a resident of the Naryn region.
This information was confirmed to Turmush correspondent Jumanasyr Abdildaev, who had kept this retro car in his garage for 41 years. He noted that there was great interest in the vehicle, and even disputes arose regarding its ownership. Nevertheless, Jumanasyr decided that Bakai should be the one to receive this car.

“Turdakun Usubaliev was always a simple and approachable person who paid attention to agricultural issues. In 1970 or 1972, he visited our region to familiarize himself with the progress of construction work in this area. At that time, we had an inter-farm construction enterprise operating. He asked the manager what was needed and learned that the workers had no official vehicle to inspect the sites. The next day, his GAZ-69 with the number 0001 VIA appeared at the enterprise, which was considered one of the best at that time,” Jumanasyr recounted.

According to him, the car was used at the enterprise until 1983, and in 1972 it was handed over to Jumakeev Jumakadyrov, the head of the inter-farm construction enterprise. Then, in 1978, Jumanasyr became its manager, and the car came into his possession.
“Turdakun Usubaliev often chose this car for trips to the villages, as he considered it the most convenient for such routes. It had additional shock absorbers installed, which apparently caught the attention of the statesman,” he added.

In 1982, Jumanasyr was in charge of constructing the surgical department of the district hospital. “When I was informed by the district party committee that Usubaliev would come to inspect the work, I awaited him at the site. He arrived in the GAZ-69, inspected all aspects of the construction, and as he was leaving, he shook my hand, which was a great honor for a simple manager,” he noted.

When the car became his property, Jumanasyr decided to preserve it. “I even thought about exchanging it for a Zhiguli, but my father advised against it, reminding me of Usubaliev's significance. Many people asked to buy the car, but I refused,” he added.

The car was handed over to Bakai Ömüraliev, a friend of Jumanasyr's son-in-law, with the hope that he would continue to help people just as Turdakun Usubaliev did. “The car will be used for gold mining. I received many offers to sell it, but this is a historical value, and I hope Bakai will appreciate it,” Jumanasyr concluded.

Jumanasyr Abdildaev is a graduate of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute, class of 1973, and later worked in various leadership positions in the fields of construction and social policy. He has three daughters and a son, as well as eight grandchildren.

Bakai Ömüraliev, for his part, reported that he has already repaired Usubaliev's car. “Despite numerous calls asking me to sell the car, I do not intend to do so,” he added.
