At the age of 21, Aikokul Abdibaitova, living in the village of Kök-Alma in the Bazar-Korgon district of the Jalal-Abad region, began her journey in sheep farming, actively breeding and selling sheep.

She started this business about a year ago and currently has 8 sheep. She cares for them with the same attention as she does for her children: feeding them dry hay, providing concentrated feed twice a day, and giving them injections.

Aikokul got married at 19.

“I found out that my husband, my father, and my father-in-law work on the same bus routes. My husband and I met over the phone,” she shared.

Although Aikokul did not plan to get married at a young age and wanted to focus on her career, her husband insisted on the wedding.

“He said he wouldn’t let me go because he loves me. My husband is 10 years older than me. I agreed because we both were on board with this step,” she added.

Growing up with her grandmother, Aikokul admits that she got married without having any special skills in cooking and household management, like many other girls. Since her mother-in-law was not around, it was difficult for her to adapt to her new responsibilities, but she found support in her husband.

She recalls a funny incident with a smile:

“The day after the wedding, we went for a walk in the mountains. I completely forgot that I was now a daughter-in-law and went with them. Now I feel embarrassed; I think I should have stayed home since I was a young bride,” she says.

Aikokul noted that she and her husband had to overcome many difficulties: “Sometimes I cried at night so he wouldn’t see. But those hard days are behind us, and we are gradually managing.”

“Sheep farming has become an important part of my life. I started this business by following my husband’s example, supporting and inspiring him. He believes in me. We work together on breeding and selling sheep at the market, but we don’t share this on social media,” she emphasized.

In her free time, Aikokul enjoys reading, taking care of her daughter Bermet, tidying up the house, and making motivational videos.

Her dream is to breed Arashan and Merino sheep and create her own small farm.
