In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, he shared that his farm has more than 50 sheep. "I enrolled in the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports after school, but I couldn't finish my studies and went abroad to earn money. Upon returning from Russia five years ago, I invested my savings, as well as money from my parents and brothers, to build a reliable pen and purchase elite sheep. All of them were of a meat breed and cost much more than ordinary sheep on the market.
Tugolbay started with 50 sheep and calculates profit based on lambing. "One lamb of good breed can cover our annual expenses. Last year we had about 50 lambs, and we sold ten-day-old ones for 70,000 soms. That's why I decided to focus exclusively on high-breed sheep. Recently, we bought a one-day-old Arachan lamb for 7,000 dollars along with its ewe. It is now three months old, and the ewe will be taken away in a couple of months. We also purchased a breeding ram of the same breed for 9,000 dollars," he added.
According to the farmer, over the years he has faced various difficulties in animal husbandry. "Last year we lost a ram worth 150,000 soms due to a cold, as we couldn't treat it in time. Such losses are upsetting but teach us not to repeat mistakes. Sheep need to be carefully fed, provided with quality hay, and their health must be monitored. Someone from the family must always be at home. We currently have more than 50 sheep in our pen, each worth at least 50,000 soms. This is the result of five years of hard work. We continue to improve the process and strive to increase our income," Tugolbay noted.
At the moment, Mukhtaly Uulu Tugolbay is 30 years old and is raising three sons with his wife.
