In Talas, employees of the State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan detained several high-ranking officials, including the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic N.N.E., the head of the department of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports B.Z.B., and the former Deputy Governor of the Talas Region B.N.A.
According to the special service, officials from the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic entered into a contract that turned out to be deliberately disadvantageous. For the organization of the sports games "I am a Champion," scheduled for the summer of 2026 in the Talas Region, the Department of Physical Culture and Sports was allocated 17.5 million soms.
However, out of this amount, 12 million soms were unlawfully used to purchase a residential house, which was supposed to be converted into an administrative building for the regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports.
The valuation of this residential house, carried out with the participation of the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic N.N.E., was intentionally inflated to 12 million 343 thousand soms. Meanwhile, an independent examination showed that the actual market price is only 7 million soms. As a result, the state suffered significant damage exceeding 4 million soms.
In connection with the above, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic N.N.E., the head of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports B.Z.B., and the former Deputy Governor of the Talas Region B.N.A. were detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Talas city police.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing within the framework of the criminal case aimed at identifying and holding accountable other individuals involved in this case.
