According to official data, 17.5 million soms were allocated to the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the region for preparations for the sports competition "I am a Champion," scheduled for the summer of 2026. Instead of using the funds for their intended purpose, officials from the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports under the Cabinet of Ministers directed 12 million soms to purchase a residential house, intending to organize administrative offices within it.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the property valuation was inflated. With the help of the vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, N.N.E., the house was valued at 12 million 343 thousand soms, while its actual market value is around 7 million soms. Thus, the damage to the state exceeded 4 million soms.
The following individuals have been detained on suspicion of fraud:
- N.N.E., vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- B.Z.B., head of the department of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports;
- B.N.A., former deputy governor of the Talas region.
All detainees have been placed in a temporary detention facility in Talas. The investigation is ongoing, and other possible participants in the case are being identified.
