A 46-year-old resident of the village of Uch-Korgon in the Manas district of the Talas region, Zayida Tursunbaeva, is a mother-heroine.

“I got married when I was 28 years old. My husband and I have been together for over 18 years. In 12 years, I gave birth to 8 children. We never thought about having a large number of children, but at first, we only had sons, and we really wanted a daughter,” she shared.

Her children:

The firstborn, Musa Ibraimov, was born in 2009,

Nuraly — in 2010,

Nurbul — in 2013,

Dana — in 2014,

Nurbek — in 2016.

The twins, Aman and Esen, were born in 2017,

Kurmanbek — in 2019.

Zayida gave birth to her youngest son at the age of 40.

“People around said, ‘How will you support them? There’s no permanent job, so many worries.’ Especially relatives who came rarely joked, ‘Every year, the number of your children increases.’ But we manage and raise our children. Of course, it was difficult with the twins. We were helped by my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and our older children. It was especially hard at night: I would put one to sleep, and the other would wake up and cry, so I often didn’t sleep many nights. Now they are 9 years old — sometimes they miss each other, sometimes they argue. When one of them is not at home, the other saves food for him,” she said.

The head of the family does welding work, but due to health issues, he cannot work for long periods. He does not have a permanent job.

Zayida herself has been engaged in handicrafts since childhood, including knitting.

“I used to buy old sewing machines, but they broke down quickly. Now we dream of a new modern sewing machine. We receive benefits for seven children — 1200 soms per month. We spend this money on food and clothing for the children. We also cultivate the land,” she added.
