In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, the 27-year-old law enforcement officer shared that she joined the police due to a childhood dream. "In school, on February 23, we held an event for which we asked for uniforms from those working in the police. It suited me very well, and I made a wish to also work in such a uniform. So after school, I enrolled in the Faculty of Investigative Forensics at the Kyrgyz State Law Academy and graduated in 2021. I first went on an internship in 2018 at the Aitmatov district police department.
I met my future husband during that internship. My husband, Chyngyz Baisubekov, is 30 years old. He also works in the police. In March 2022, an order was issued for our joint employment. We got to know each other, started dating, and got married in 2024. We have a daughter. One could say that my profession also led me to my life partner," she recounts.
In 2022, Aliya was appointed as a district police officer in the Public Security Service, in 2023 she worked in the investigative service, and now she works in the juvenile affairs inspection (JAI). "Working with children is challenging. You need to communicate with them, considering their age. Once, in November, a shop window near a school in my area was broken, and some small change was stolen. After receiving the report, I went to the scene and found out what was missing. I checked about 10 mischievous boys whom I had registered myself. Then I noticed that one of them was chewing 'Orbit' gum. He kept pulling out new pieces, and the smell was very strong. Among the stolen items was 'Orbit' gum with a watermelon flavor. When I asked them, they didn’t confess. I took that boy aside and talked to him. At first, he didn’t admit anything. But when I started asking where he got the gum and who gave him the money for it, he burst into tears.
It turned out that they were children from 3rd to 4th grades. We held appropriate meetings with their parents. I also explained to this child what the consequences of stealing are and what a bad deed he had committed. Later, I continued to monitor him, and when I saw that he was behaving well, I was happy. There are such interesting cases. We are called to work day and night. Since our daughter is still small, our parents support us a lot. They are always ready to look after her. This is a great support for us and for our work. I am glad that I have such an understanding, good family. Since my husband and I work in the same field, we understand each other very well. There are no quarrels over being late or not managing something at home," she says.
