The Kyrgyz police will celebrate its 101st anniversary on November 1, 2025. Turmush, as part of its project about law enforcement officers, spoke with Police Captain Adilet Murataliev.

Adilet Murataliev, who has served for 12 years, works as a district inspector at the Alamudun District Department of Internal Affairs in the Chui region. Throughout his service, he has established himself as a responsible and conscientious worker, which has been recognized with the "Azamat" medal (III degree), the title of "Best District Inspector," and various Certificates of Honor. This year, his family received an apartment as part of the state mortgage program.

Born in 1992 in Bishkek, Adilet studied at the Kyrgyz State Law Academy from 2011 to 2017, majoring in "Criminal Law Activities." "During my studies, I became interested in the work of the police and realized that I wanted to serve in this field," he shares.

His career began at the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs in the capital, and in 2024 he was transferred to the Alamudun District. "Here, unlike in urban service, we often have to work in the mountains, as many villages are located at the foot of the mountains. This often requires working in hard-to-reach places," the officer says.

One of the most memorable events in his career was an incident during the SCO summit. "During the event, we received a report about a suspicious person in an abandoned house in the mountains. We set out on horseback, as the roads were snowed in. The ascent was very difficult — the horses were slipping, and the road was dangerous. When we arrived, the house turned out to be empty, and there were no signs of a person. But on the way back, we noticed fresh tracks… of a snow leopard. This surprised us — we had never encountered such a thing before, and we were a bit scared. But then we laughed for a long time, recalling that moment," the policeman recounts.

He also shared another amusing incident during the summit. "When we were given horses for patrolling, there was a large and tall colleague among us who ended up with the smallest horse. As soon as he got into the saddle, the horse could barely stand, and then just collapsed to the ground. We all laughed until we cried — it was truly a comical moment," he adds.

Despite having faced tough work over the years, the captain notes that he enjoys recalling such funny and kind stories. They give him strength and remind him that even in a challenging profession, there is room for smiles.

Adilet Murataliev is married and raising two children — a ten-year-old son and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
