Azhbekov Asanbek Sarmashayevich (1947), Doctor of Agricultural Sciences (1995), Professor (2001)

Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Lakhol, Naryn district, Naryn region. Graduated from the Issyk-Kul Agricultural Technical School (1964), KSU (1972), postgraduate studies at the Kyrgyz Research Institute of Sheep Breeding (1976).

Worked as a livestock breeder and selector, deputy director of the Tian-Shan Experimental Station, laboratory assistant, junior researcher at the Institute of Experimental Biology of the Kyrgyz SSR, senior researcher, head of the laboratory, head of the department, deputy director, and since 1996 - director of the Kyrgyz Research Institute of Sheep Breeding.

Specialist in sheep breeding and selection, technology of sheep production. Awarded the Honorary Certificate of the Kyrgyz Republic (1991). Published more than 100 scientific works.

Under his supervision, 1 doctoral and 2 candidate dissertations have been defended.
