Ayköl Bakirova from the village of Asylbash, Sokuluk district of Chui region, has been passionate about horseback riding since her early years.

She first got into the saddle at the age of six, and for the past two years, she has been actively participating in the national game of kok-boru.

Ayköl shared that her passion is connected to her family. “My father — Baktybek Bakirovich Beishekov and my mother — Nurgul Emilevna Osmonova always support us and help us develop in what interests us. Since my father is engaged in livestock breeding and keeps horses, I mastered the saddle at six, and the horse became my loyal friend. My father and brother play kok-boru, and I often went with them to the games and gradually became interested myself. That’s how I started participating in village games, most often playing the role of a defender alongside my brother. I have been playing kok-boru for about two years now. I have my own horse named 'Vostok,' who is 4 years old. I used to play volleyball,” says the young rider.

According to her, she continues to learn by observing more experienced players. “I try to learn from their experience — how they manage the horse, what tactics they use, how they perform the role of a defender,” Ayköl shared.
