In Kyrgyzstan, the historical forum on 'Urkun' has been canceled

This became known from one of the organizers

The forum dedicated to the event "Urkun," which took place in Central Asia in 1916 and led to a mass exodus of the population to China, has been canceled in Kyrgyzstan.

“This is extremely sad, friends. We planned to hold a significant forum where teachers, researchers, and historians were supposed to speak. This event would have given people the opportunity to understand these events more deeply and learn to perceive this tragic chapter of our history through the lens of humanism and constructive approaches,” shared one of the organizers.

For reference, the "Urkun" uprising in 1916 was triggered by the call of Tsarist Russia for the population to perform rear work and is associated with the geopolitical confrontations of the powers involved in World War I (including the Russian, Ottoman, British, and German empires). As a result of this uprising, there were casualties on both sides and a mass exodus of part of the population to China.
