Anwar Nanshalo, a descendant of Ibrahim and the head of the Dungan public association, shared that the building is located at: 176 Gebze Street.
“In this house lived Ibrahim Azhy, who became the initiator of the construction of the famous Dungan mosque, now bearing his name. He had two sons, and the house itself had two courtyards: an outer one, where guests and traders would come, and an inner one, where Ibrahim Azhy lived with his family. During the event known as Ürkün in 1916, he fled to China along with other Dungans. We searched for them for a long time but did not find them. It is unknown whether they made it to China or perished along the way. Ibrahim's family had four children, one of whom was Karim, a trader who lived in Kazakhstan at that time. After 1916, he went to China without passing through Kyrgyzstan and was only able to find his family three years later. Karim's daughter is my maternal grandmother,” Nanshalo shared.
Today, more than 10 families live in this historic house. According to them, filming for the movie "Akyrky Kosh," created by Kyrgyz directors Bakyt Mukul and Dastan Japar uulu, took place here.
