He noted that the rise in prices affects not only socially significant products and emphasized the importance of analyzing the country's economy as a whole, which demonstrates positive dynamics.
“As of today, the gross domestic product exceeds 1.4 trillion soms, and the growth rate is 10%. Consumption and demand for goods are increasing. Prices, of course, are rising, but for six main products, the supply remains complete. It should also be noted that we are importing inflation from other countries,” he explained.
In the context of regulating meat prices, Chekirbaev emphasized the need for interaction with intermediaries who can contribute to inflated final prices. However, according to the latest data, there is a decrease in meat prices by 20-50 soms in the markets.
“We are studying the value-added chain where price increases occur. Many farmers face problems when supplying meat to Bishkek due to the large number of intermediaries. They purchase and transport 20-30 heads of livestock, and it is the intermediaries who play a key role in pricing,” Chekirbaev added.
He also reported that there is information that intermediaries may add 100-120 soms to the price. “We intend to conduct an analysis and thoroughly investigate the reasons for this situation,” he noted.
Chekirbaev expressed the opinion that, overall, society has responded to calls to prevent price increases for meat.

Since August 2025, state regulation of meat prices has been introduced in Kyrgyzstan. This list includes meat (beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat), which is included in the “List of socially significant goods for which temporary state price regulation may be introduced in the domestic market of the Kyrgyz Republic.”
