The Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of 16 goods that may be subject to state price regulation in the domestic market in 2023. Of these, 11 items relate to food products.
The ministries are conducting an analysis of the pricing of food products included in the list of socially significant goods. Currently, there is state price regulation on meat in the republic.
“The decision was made on August 11, 2025, which specifies beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat,” Alykulova noted.
According to the expert, citizens assume that such types of meat as tenderloin and fillet should also be subject to state regulation, but this is not the case. The socially significant goods are only lamb and beef (excluding boneless meat),” she added.
The Ministry of Economy also reminded that the maximum allowable prices for meat in Bishkek are 680 soms per kilogram of beef and 670 soms per kilogram of lamb.

1. Wheat flour of the first grade
2. Wheat bread made from first-grade flour (loaf), bakery products (flatbread)
3. Milk with a fat content of 2.5-3.2%
4. Vegetable oil
5. Butter (unsalted, at least 72.5% without fillers and vegetable fats)
6. Meat (beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat)
7. Granulated sugar
8. Rice (white polished)
9. Pasta (vermicelli, spaghetti, and horns)
10. Chicken eggs
11. Vegetables (potatoes, carrots, onions)
12. Coal
13. Gasoline grade A-92, diesel fuel
14. Liquefied hydrocarbon gas (LPG)
15. Mineral fertilizers (ammonium nitrate, urea, ammophos)
16. Feed for agricultural animals, birds, and fish
