Kyrgyzstan, fully providing itself with beef and lamb, demonstrates stable results in this area, according to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
However, the situation with poultry meat requires attention: in 2025, 58,000 tons were imported, and in 2026, a supply of 48,000 tons is expected according to the established quota.
The Ministry also reported an extension of the state price regulation for meat (including beef and lamb, excluding boneless meat) until the end of 2025.
Uran Chekirbaev, head of the food security department, emphasized that measures are being taken to ensure price stability amid rising inflation both domestically and internationally.
"Meat is a key food product in Kyrgyzstan, so it is important to keep its price stable. Currently, the price of beef and lamb ranges from 600 to 700 soms per kilogram. We are making efforts to maintain this level, especially for socially vulnerable groups," he noted.
In addition to this, the export of live cattle has been temporarily suspended to ensure sufficient meat volumes in the domestic market.
These measures are aimed at supporting the stability of the domestic market and protecting the interests of citizens.
