In his annual address to the nation and parliament, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, emphasized that the economy today represents the most important weapon in a global context. This statement was made during his address, as reported by BelTA.
Lukashenko noted that the upcoming meeting will outline key directions for the country's development over the next five years. Before reviewing the draft state program prepared by the government, he highlighted the main principles that this document should adhere to.
“The principles in question are dictated by life itself and are extremely important in the current conditions. The foundation of everything is the economy, which acts as the main weapon in the modern world,” Lukashenko stated.
The President also emphasized that to achieve the high goals set for the next five-year period, a reliable economic foundation is necessary. He added that to reach the target gross domestic product of 100 billion dollars and increase the average salary to 1,000 dollars, enterprises and the financial system must operate stably.
