According to Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Xie Feng, Beijing insists that Washington does not cross four key "red lines." This statement was made in the context of a recent trade truce, as reported by Bloomberg.

Among the mentioned "red lines," the diplomat highlighted issues related to Taiwan, human rights, China's political system, and the country's right to development. He noted that "the main thing is to respect the core interests and key priorities of both sides."

China considers Taiwan a part of its territory and does not rule out the possibility of using force for its "reunification," while Taipei rejects these claims. Moreover, in recent years, there have been disagreements between the countries regarding human rights issues in Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Tibet.

It is also worth noting that American officials had previously urged China to reform its economic model and increase domestic demand to balance the trade imbalance caused by the high level of Chinese exports.

Xie Feng emphasized that "the implementation of the agreements reached" is "the most pressing priority." These agreements were reached at the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump at the end of October during the APEC summit, where the parties agreed to mutual tariff reductions.

Before the negotiations, tensions escalated: China tightened control over the export of rare earth metals, while the U.S. threatened to impose new 100% tariffs on Chinese goods. As a result of the agreements reached, Washington reduced tariffs from 57% to 47%, while Beijing temporarily refrained from imposing new export restrictions.
