On November 27 in Bishkek, during a conversation with journalists, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, made a joking statement that he does not intend to return the former President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiev, to his homeland.

“We won’t let him go back to you. I told him: ‘No more trips, that’s enough! Live in Belarus.’ He is living well. I sometimes visit him when he invites me. So we won’t give him back to you,” Lukashenko said, as reported by the BelTA agency.

He also added that Bakiev feels a great longing for his homeland: “He suffers a lot and misses his country. He tells me that he would like to at least visit his father's grave. It’s outrageous that Kyrgyz people cannot allow their president to visit his parent's grave. I think we will resolve this issue with the current leadership,” the head of Belarus concluded.
Let us remind you that Kurmanbek Bakiev was overthrown in April 2010 and has since left Kyrgyzstan.
