A recent online meeting was held, attended by the heads of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as representatives from the tourism and youth sectors of the Bishkek city administration, the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Yekaterinburg, as well as the Department of International and Foreign Economic Relations and the Department of Education of Yekaterinburg.
During the discussions, the parties exchanged valuable experiences in the development of sports infrastructure, the organization of sports schools, and the implementation of modern technologies in the training process. Special attention was paid to the cooperation of specialized children and youth sports schools of Olympic reserve (SDYUSHOR).
Several areas of interaction were discussed at the meeting:
- exchange of experience between the SDYUSHOR of the two cities and the development of cooperation among coaching teams;
- conducting joint training camps and sports events;
- agreement on the participation of athletes from Bishkek in the opening of the athletics season "Christmas Starts" in Yekaterinburg;
- implementation of joint projects and initiatives between sports institutions.
The city administration emphasized that the partnership between Bishkek and Yekaterinburg creates new opportunities for the development of youth sports, the exchange of professional methods, and the strengthening of ties between sports institutions. This format of cooperation contributes to improving the quality of training for young athletes and expands international initiatives in the field of physical culture and youth policy.
The Agreement on Twin City Relations between the cities was signed on September 14, 2024, by the Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Junushaliev and the head of Yekaterinburg Alexey Orlov.
