Kyrgyzstan Shared Its Experience in Restoring the Population of the Gazelle on the International Stage

At the 20th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the delegation of Kyrgyzstan shared its experience in restoring the population of the gazelle.

The press service of the Ministry of Nature reported that national initiatives for the conservation of rare species and biodiversity were presented at the conference.

E. Mamaev, head of the wildlife department of the Biodiversity Resources Management of the Ministry of Nature, delivered a report on the reintroduction of the gazelle in the country. He emphasized that the restoration of this population is an important part of the strategy to increase the number of wild ungulates in Kyrgyzstan.

During the committee meetings of the conference, Mamaev presented a number of proposals aimed at improving the accessibility and effectiveness of international standards for wildlife trade control.

Additionally, as part of the event, a meeting was held between the Kyrgyz delegation and representatives from Malta, where issues of enhancing control over transportation, sharing experiences, and prospects for further cooperation in wildlife conservation were discussed.
