A sanitary landfill will be built in Kemino and Orlovka by 2031, - Ministry of Natural Resources

The Ministry of Natural Resources of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment of Korea conducted a joint study of sites for the construction of a sanitary landfill in the city of Kemin and Orlovka in the Kemin district of Chui region.

The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources reported that from November 12 to 17, the first meeting with a delegation from Korea took place as part of the cooperation with MYC Inc. (Make Your Climate), which is part of the Ministry of Climate of Korea.

The project titled "Construction of a Sanitary Landfill in Chui Region of Kyrgyzstan" aims to create an integrated waste management system. It includes waste burial, incineration, and sorting with the goal of reducing the volume that will be buried in landfills and minimizing the negative impact on the environment.

According to information from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the implementation of the project is scheduled for the period from 2027 to 2031, with a total budget of up to $10 million. The executive agency will be the K-eco Corporation, and the managing organization will be KEITI.
