The Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kyrgyz Republic once again reminds of the existing ban on the collection and use of a number of plants.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic decided on May 28, 2024, to impose a temporary moratorium on the use of certain types of plants, which will last until January 1, 2027 (Resolution No. 270).
This measure is aimed at protecting nature and safeguarding rare plant species.
As part of the implementation of this resolution, the ministry has suspended the issuance of permits for the harvesting of prohibited plants to both legal entities and individuals.
The list of plants subject to the ban includes: macrotomia, arnebia, ash tree, aconite, aflatun onion, rhodiola, Samarkand everlasting, Olga's bug, long-stemmed bug, columnar bug, and Chimgan bug.
Prohibited actions:
•
collection and processing
•
purchase and sale,
•

The main goal of the imposed ban is to preserve the stocks of wild-growing plants, avoid the depletion of their root systems and other underground parts, as well as prevent the destruction of their natural habitat.
