Kyrgyzstan Presented the Interests of the Country's Museum Sector at the ICOM Conference in Dubai

At the ICOM General Conference, which took place from November 11 to 17 in Dubai, the National Committee of ICOM Kyrgyzstan represented the interests of the country's museum sector. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

During the event, participants discussed relevant areas of museum work, including topics such as ethics, inclusivity, sustainable development, digitalization, and the preservation of cultural heritage. The issue of updating the ICOM Ethical Code was also in focus.

At the 40th session of the Assembly, important resolutions were adopted, and new leadership for ICOM was elected: Antonio Rodriguez became the president, while Nasir Al-Darmaki and Taybikh Golnaz Golsabakhi were appointed as vice-presidents.

The chairperson of the National Committee of ICOM KR, Aida Alymova, actively supported the positions of Kyrgyzstan's museum sector, contributing to the strengthening of international cooperation.

ICOM (International Council of Museums) is a global organization that brings together museums and museum professionals engaged in the preservation, development, and interaction with society, linking cultural and natural heritage, both tangible and intangible. The organization was founded in 1946 in Paris, France.
