As a result of a recent scandal involving the apartment of the famous singer Larisa Dolina, the term "Babushkina схема" (Grandma's Scheme) has been recognized as the word of the year in the field of economics. This became known thanks to the press service of the portal "Gramota.ru," which organized the "Word of the Year" campaign.

The term, which refers to a fraudulent scheme related to real estate, took first place, garnering 44.6% of the respondents' votes. In second place were the words "utilization fee" (14.3%) and "self-ban" (11.4%).

The essence of the "Babushkina схема" is that fraudsters convince elderly people to sell their property, and then contest the transaction in court, leaving the buyer without funds and real estate.

It is worth noting that Larisa Dolina sold her apartment but later accused fraudsters of influencing her decision to proceed with the transaction. As a result, she went to court, which declared the transaction invalid. The buyer, a mother of many children named Polina Lurye, was left without an apartment and without money.

This story regarding the sale of Larisa Dolina's real estate has caused significant public resonance. Meanwhile, the honest buyer, Polina Lurye, suffered. The Supreme Court of Russia overturned the decision of the Khamovnichesky Court and the appellate ruling of the Moscow City Court in the singer's case. During the court session, it was revealed that Dolina refused to present certificates from the psychiatric dispensary, citing her status as a People's Artist of the Russian Federation. Ultimately, the court granted Lurye's complaint and upheld her ownership rights to the apartment.
