As is known, Larisa Dolina sold her apartment in 2024 under pressure from fraudsters. The new owner, 34-year-old Polina Lurye, was unaware of the fraud that had taken place. The singer went to court, which initially granted her claims, returning the apartment to her and not requiring the buyer to return the money. As a result, Lurye was left without housing and funds.
This situation sparked heated discussions on social media, affecting not only Russians. Users began actively "canceling" Larisa Dolina, demanding the return of the apartment to its rightful owner and only then addressing the fraudsters. Consequently, the term "Dolina effect" or "grandmother's scheme" emerged, describing a situation where a seller of an apartment attempts to contest the transaction, claiming to have been a victim of fraud and lost money.

In December 2025, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized Polina Lurye's ownership rights. The court also returned the case of Dolina's forced eviction for a new hearing in the appellate instance.
