A meeting was held at the State Committee for National Security with Bekzhan Urustemov, the eldest son of Zhibek Urustemova, at the request of the Chairman of the SCNS Kamchybek Tashiev.

As a result of the discussion, it was decided to provide comprehensive assistance to the children of the deceased. This includes support in obtaining housing, assistance in repaying the mortgage, employment for the eldest son, and funding for the education of the younger children. This issue will be under special control of the SCNS leadership.

Bekzhan had previously reached out for help to the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and to Kamchybek Tashiev, publishing his appeal on Instagram on December 26.

The son reported that after losing their mother, the family was left without a breadwinner, and the mortgage payments for their apartment were at risk. He shared that his mother, working as a teacher, was the sole provider for the family, including her unemployed husband.

The apartment was purchased with a mortgage, and Zhibek was repaying the loan monthly. Currently, the debt amounts to about 2 million soms, and Bekzhan, being a student, is unable to cope with this burden. "Our situation is extremely difficult; we need state support," he noted.

Additionally, the eldest son expressed his willingness to leave his studies to provide for his younger brothers, who are in the second and third grades.

Despite the lack of an official response from the authorities, funds have begun to be raised for the family on social media. Meanwhile, the sister of the suspected murderer reported that their parents are ready to pay off the remaining mortgage amount and transfer the apartment to the children.

The tragic incident occurred on December 23. According to law enforcement, a man in a state of intoxication shot his ex-wife on her birthday. They had three children together.

The suspect, who previously worked in the police and retired in 2019, had recently been working as a coach in a gym. According to the police, he had a firearm permit obtained after his retirement.

A criminal case has been initiated for murder, the suspect has been detained, and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department. The investigation is ongoing.

The head of the Bishkek City Police Department, Azamat Toktonaliev, commented that alcohol was the cause of the murder. He also noted that the situation could have developed differently if it weren't for alcohol and the victim's birthday. According to him, the suspect came to his ex-wife with a cake and flowers, and she agreed to go with him. However, it later turned out that the cake and flowers were given to her by students of the KAU in honor of her birthday.

Kamchybek Tashiev and Ombudsman Jamila Dzhamanbaeva emphasized that no circumstances can justify the brutal murder of a mother of three children.

On December 26, it became known that the investigation had been transferred to the SCNS. Under the chairmanship of Kamchybek Tashiev, an investigative headquarters was established, and the suspect—a former police officer—was transferred to the SCNS detention center. It was also revealed that the weapon used in the crime was illegal, and Zhibek U. had previously been under a protective order from the police, but despite this, she was killed by her husband.
