The Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, commented on the murder of a woman committed by her ex-husband, who previously worked in the Bishkek Traffic Police.

He emphasized that such actions cannot be justified.

“Yesterday, the entire country learned with horror about the tragedy that led to the death of a woman—a mother of three children. As a man, a father, and a representative of the state, I must state: there is no justification for such an act, and there cannot be,” Tashiev noted.

According to him, no explanations regarding “family conflicts,” “emotions,” “alcohol,” or “personal circumstances” can be acceptable when someone cold-bloodedly kills another person. “This is not a domestic quarrel. This is murder, especially when it concerns a woman, a mother,” he added.

Tashiev also stressed that the state must and will actively protect women and children.

“Anyone who raises a hand or uses a weapon against a woman must understand: severe responsibility is inevitable. The law shows no leniency in such cases,” he stated.

An investigation is currently underway, and the perpetrator will be punished in accordance with the law. This is a principled position—not for the sake of reporting, but for the sake of justice and the safety of citizens,” he added.

He expressed sincere condolences to the children and relatives of the deceased, assuring that the state supports the victim, not violence.

The tragedy occurred in Bishkek on December 23, when a divorce process ended in a horrific incident. In the evening, around 9:00 PM, on her birthday, a 47-year-old woman was killed. Her ex-husband, U.B.M., born in 1977, has been detained as a suspect.

According to the information from the press service of the Bishkek City Police Department, several hours before the tragedy, the court completed the divorce process of the spouses, after which a quarrel occurred between them in an apartment in a high-rise building on Bokonbaeva Street. During the conflict, the 48-year-old man used a traumatic pistol of the “MP-79” model and shot his ex-wife, who died from her injuries.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 122 (“Murder”) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
