In Kyrgyzstan, it is necessary to stop the practice of political activity based on clan affiliation. This statement was made by Kamchybek Tashiev, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Committee for National Security, in an interview with the television channel "Region TV".
Tashiev noted that recently there has been an increase in the number of kurultai organized in the name of various clans and tribes, which may threaten the integrity of the state.
“When someone comes out and says, ‘My clan is strong, famous personalities come from our clan,’ and on this basis holds kurultai across the country — this is wrong. This is a clear manifestation of politics based on clan identity. This is a serious mistake. We must know our ancestors up to the seventh generation. We will not allow this. Therefore, I ask the people of Kyrgyzstan to perceive this correctly,” he emphasized.
“We must stop such actions for the sake of stability and peace in our society. Such manifestations are unacceptable,” Tashiev added.
