“With great sorrow, we learned of the tragic death of Zhibek U. - the mother of three children, a lecturer at the KEU named after Musa Ryskulbekov, who passed away on her birthday,” the statement reads.
Zhibek Bakytovna was a person with a kind soul, bright and responsive, genuinely passionate about her work. She was respected by her colleagues and loved by her students. The professionalism, humanity, and kindness of Zhibek will forever remain in our hearts. This is an irreplaceable loss for her relatives, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire academic community,” the university added.
The head of the Bishkek Department of Internal Affairs, Azamat Toktonaliev, commented on the tragedy, stating that alcohol was the cause of the murder. In his opinion, the situation could have turned out differently without this factor and on the victim's birthday. He also noted that the suspect came to his ex-wife with a cake and flowers, and she agreed to leave with him. However, it later turned out that the cake and flowers were given to her by KEU students who congratulated her on her birthday.
The head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, and the ombudsman, Jamiliya Jamambaeva, emphasize that no circumstance can justify such a brutal crime against a mother of three children.
