According to him, in 2025, both the reconstruction of two existing bridges and the construction of one new bridge are planned. The bridge over the YBCHK, which connects Shukurova and Mederova streets, has been completed and is already open for traffic. The reconstruction of the bridge on Auezov Street has also been completed, and traffic has resumed there as well.
“Currently, work is ongoing on the bridge over the Alamedin River on Jibek Jolu Avenue. Beams are being installed and concrete is being poured for the retaining wall. It is expected that the work will be completed in January, and traffic will be opened. However, according to the contract with the contractor, they have until April 2026,” clarified Azamat Osmonaliev.
It is worth noting that the bridge has been closed to traffic since September 29, 2025. The city hall explained that this is due to the fact that the structure is in an emergency state: the reinforcement has surfaced, and the structures are deforming under load. The Vice Mayor of Bishkek, Ramiz Aliyev, previously stated that the reconstruction of the bridge should be completed by December 15, but now other deadlines are being mentioned.
After the reconstruction is completed, the bridge will become more spacious and comfortable for motorists: the number of lanes will increase from two to six. Its length will be 25 meters, and its width will be 34.3 meters. Sidewalks 3 meters wide will be arranged on both sides, ensuring pedestrian safety. The work is being carried out as part of the modernization program of Bishkek's street and road network aimed at increasing capacity and traffic safety.
