Zhibek Moldoeva, the president of the Shooting Sports Federation of Kyrgyzstan, appealed to Sadyr Japarov, the president of the country, and Kamchybek Tashiev, the chairman of the State Committee for National Security, regarding the necessity to preserve the only shooting base in Kyrgyzstan. She published her request on social media.

According to Zhibek Moldoeva, since January 2025, the federation has repeatedly sent requests to various agencies, but the situation remains unresolved. Just recently, the management of the shooting complex notified the federation about the need to vacate the facility, stating that further operation of the base has become "impossible."

“I am addressing you publicly. This is not my choice, but a forced measure,” she wrote in her appeal.

She emphasized that athletes have no alternative venues for training: the shooting complex "9x19," opened in 2019 and intended for the national team's preparation, remains the only place for full-fledged training in the main disciplines:

• air rifle shooting (10 meters);
• small-bore rifle shooting (25 and 50 meters);
• practical shooting.

Zhibek Moldoeva reminded that before the creation of the new complex, shooters trained in an emergency building from the Soviet era, located in Fuchik Park, where conditions were extremely unsatisfactory: dampness, cold, and walls that were practically collapsing.

“I ask you to help preserve the shooting base for our athletes and the national team. This issue is of utmost importance and has a huge significance for the future of shooting sports in the country—an Olympic sport that brings us international success,” she addressed the leadership of the republic.
