The press service of the GKNB reported that an investigative operational group has been organized, and work on the case has already begun.
The tragedy unfolded on December 23 in Bishkek, when the divorce proceedings were completed. The murder occurred on the victim's birthday, around 9:00 PM, and the victim was a 47-year-old woman. Suspicion of committing the crime fell on her ex-husband U.B.M., born in 1977.
This incident has caused significant public resonance, especially considering that the detained individual once worked in law enforcement as a police officer.
During the investigation, the State Committee for National Security uncovered new details, including the presence of a temporary protection order for the deceased and facts of illegal possession and carrying of gas-traumatic weapons by the accused, which were used in the murder.
At present, the accused is in custody and has been transferred to the GKNB investigative isolation facility, where he will remain throughout the investigation.
“The GKNB emphasizes that as a result of the investigation, a final legal assessment will be given not only to the actions of the accused but also to other individuals whose actions or inactions may have contributed to the commission of this crime,” the official statement said.
Addressing the children, relatives, and close ones of the deceased, the GKNB expressed confidence that all those responsible will receive their due punishment in accordance with the law, and the public will be timely informed about the progress of the investigation,” the agency added.
