The GKNB also reported new facts related to the presence of a temporary protection order for the deceased and the illegal possession of traumatic weapons by the accused, which were used to commit the murder.
At the moment, the suspect is in custody and has been placed in the pre-trial detention center of the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic, where he will remain throughout the investigation.
It is reminded that the tragedy occurred on December 23. Law enforcement agencies report that at the time of the incident, the man was under the influence of alcohol and shot his ex-wife on her birthday. They have three children together.
The suspect, who retired in 2019, previously served in the police. In recent years, he worked as a coach in one of the gyms in the capital. According to the police, he had a weapon permit obtained after his retirement.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the murder, the suspect has been detained, and he is being held in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department. The investigation is ongoing.
The head of the Bishkek City Police Department, Azamat Toktonaliev, commented on the incident, noting that alcohol was the cause of the murder. He believes that the situation could have developed differently if it weren't for this factor and the victim's birthday. According to him, the suspect came with a cake and flowers, and the woman went with him voluntarily. However, it later turned out that the cake and flowers were given to her by students of the Kyrgyz Economic University in honor of her birthday.
Kamchybek Tashiev, the head of the GKNB, and ombudsman Jamila Dzhamanbaeva stated that no circumstances can justify such a brutal murder of a mother of three children.
