Ruslanbek Tagaev, holding the position of akim of the Chui region in the Chui oblast, was detained by the GKNB on suspicion of committing an official crime. In particular, he is accused of illegally issuing permits for the extraction of sand and gravel mixtures.
According to the press service of the agency, the investigation established that Tagaev, violating the resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 43 dated February 5, 2019, issued certificates for the extraction of sand and gravel mixtures over an area of about 20 hectares. Meanwhile, according to current legislation, only 0.1 hectares in the riverbed is permitted for use.
Furthermore, it is known that Tagaev entered into a criminal conspiracy with a number of entrepreneurs and acted in the interests of a close relative, which led to gross violations of the law in the issuance of permitting documents.
The GKNB is currently continuing investigative activities to identify other possible individuals involved in this case.
