The akim of the Chui region, T.R.T., has been detained on charges of abuse of office. This information was reported by the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
On December 16, 2025, as part of a criminal investigation, the akim was detained for the illegal issuance of licenses for the extraction of sand and gravel mixtures.
According to the committee, T.R.T. violated the resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 43 dated February 5, 2019, which allows the issuance of licenses for the extraction of sand and gravel only on areas not exceeding 0.1 hectares. Nevertheless, he issued a permit for the use of a plot of 20 hectares.
Furthermore, the akim, in collusion with some entrepreneurs, also acted in the interests of a close relative, issuing certificates in violation of the country's laws.
After the investigative actions, on December 16 of this year, T.R.T. was placed in custody in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Currently, the GKNB continues to conduct additional investigative measures to identify other possible participants in this crime.
