It is planned to conduct lessons in two languages, ideally in English.
A proposal has been made in Bishkek not to divide classes by language. The director of the education department, Rakhmat Musaev, voiced this initiative at a meeting of the Bishkek city council.
One of the main reasons for this initiative is the shortage of teachers in Russian-speaking educational institutions, where there are currently over 400 vacant positions.
"In new buildings, the level of education in Russian-speaking classes leaves much to be desired. In new schools, one or two classes are opened, and when children finish elementary school and move to fifth grade, there is a lack of teachers for subjects. Therefore, we proposed to the Ministry of Education to abandon the division of classes by language and to teach subjects in two languages, depending on the possibilities, and ideally in English," emphasized Rakhmat Musaev.
